With two convenient cooling options—one powered, one passive—it’s built to suit life on the move across Australia and beyond.

You can either plug it in using a USB connection when electricity is available, or rely on the reusable Biogel cooling pack for off-grid peace of mind. Below, you’ll find step-by-step instructions for both methods.

Using the Biogel Cooling Pack (No Electricity Required)

Ideal for situations where you’re away from a power source—such as flights, coach trips, hiking holidays, or even just a long day out—the Biogel cooling method allows you to keep your insulin and medicines chilled without any need for plugs or charging.

Step-by-step:

1. Prepare the Cooling Pack: Shake the Biogel cooling pack four or five times to ensure the gel is evenly distributed throughout.
2. Freeze Thoroughly: Place the cooling pack in your freezer for 6 to 8 hours before use. It’s absolutely fine to leave it in longer—it won’t damage the pack.
3. Brief Defrosting: Before placing it into the cooler, allow the frozen pack to sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes, or submerge it in lukewarm tap water for 2–3 minutes. This prevents frost from forming inside the case and protects your medication from accidental freezing.
4. Pack and Go: Dry the cooling pack thoroughly with a clean tea towel. Then load your medicines into the cooler, insert the cooling pack, and secure the standard lid (not the USB lid). You’re now ready to travel with your insulin and medicine safely cooled—no power required.

Your refrigerated travel case is a long-lasting medical device, so it’s important to give it the right care. Here’s how to keep everything running smoothly:

✅ Best Practices:

• Keep Upright: Always use and store the cooler in an upright position to ensure it functions correctly.
• Ventilation: Make sure the small heat-dissipation holes on the USB lid are never blocked.
• Dusting: Gently blow away any dust using a can of compressed air or a hairdryer on the cool setting every couple of weeks.
• Rest Periods: Unplug the USB lid for around 15–20 minutes every 4 days of continuous use to give the system a rest. This helps extend the life of the cooling component.

• Use a damp cloth to wipe the stainless steel body.
• For the USB lid and Biogel pack, use a dry, soft cloth.
• Avoid direct contact with water—especially near any electronic parts.

❌ Avoid the Following

• Don’t submerge any part of the cooler in water.
• Don’t use abrasive cloths or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage surfaces.
• Don’t leave the cooler plugged in non-stop for weeks without breaks. Like most electronics, it benefits from a pause now and again.
