Cooling Time & Temperature

Voyager Mini Fridge Performance on USB Power

All our medical-grade travel coolers are laboratory tested to ensure reliable performance.

When connected to a power source, the Voyager Portable Refrigerator maintains a consistent fridge-like temperature between 2–8°C, continuously and for unlimited time, provided the ambient temperature does not exceed 35°C.

This ensures stable, dependable refrigeration for insulin and other temperature-sensitive medications.

Voyager Mini Fridge Performance with Cold Packs

When used without power during off-grid travel, the Voyager portable refrigerator for insulin continues to provide reliable cooling. Performance will vary depending on the outside temperature.

🌡️ At an ambient temperature of 30°C, it keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 2–8°C for 33 hours, and cool below 26°C for 52 hours.

🌡️ At an ambient temperature of 35°C, it keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 2–8°C for 30 hours, and cool below 26°C for 48 hours.

🌡️ At an ambient temperature of 40°C, it keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 2–8°C for 28 hours, and cool below 26°C for 46 hours.

How to Use Your Cooler

The Voyager Portable Insulin Fridge - Mini Refrigerator for Medication is incredibly versatile. It offers two cooling methods to keep your medication refrigerated with or without power, fitting any travel situation. Here’s how to use it:

USB-Powered Refrigeration

1️⃣ Load Your Medications: Place your insulin pens, vials, or syringes inside the insulated compartment.

2️⃣ Connect to Power: Secure the USB cooling lid and plug it into a power source.

3️⃣ Monitor the Temperature: Use the digital temperature display to check the internal temperature in your mini medical fridge and ensure it remains within the recommended range.

The USB mini fridge is compatible with any USB power source such as a power bank, wall outlet, car cigarette lighter, or solar panel. This feature makes it ideal for home use, long-haul flights, road trips, and off-grid travel in Australia and beyond!

Cooling Packs Refrigeration

For situations where power is unavailable, such as outdoor adventures, flights, or emergency scenarios, the Voyager travel fridge comes with an alternative Biogel cold pack cooling method to keep medications refrigerated.

To use:

1️⃣ Prepare the Biogel Cold Pack: Shake it to evenly distribute the gel, then freeze for at least 6-8 hours before use.

2️⃣ Thaw Before Use: Submerge the frozen pack in lukewarm tap water for 2-3 minutes to prevent accidental freezing of medications.

3️⃣ Load the Fridge: Place your insulin pens, vials, or syringes inside alongside the frozen Biogel pack.

4️⃣ Secure and Seal: Close the Voyager tightly to maintain internal cooling.

For continuous cooling, we recommend keeping a second Biogel cooling pack in your freezer ready to swap out as needed. Extra Biogel cold packs for the Voyager Portable Refrigerator are available for purchase here.

Maintenance & Cleaning Instructions

❌ When used with the USB-LID, the Voyager mini fridge cannot be used upside down.

The heat dissipation holes above the USB-LID should not be covered or blocked. If you do not follow this precaution, the cooling effect will weaken and the cooler will break down.

💨 Every few weeks, you can use an air compressor or hairdryer set to cool setting to blow air into the dissipation holes of the USB-Lid to remove the dust inside. This will extend the product's life span and ensure optimal performance.

We highly suggest that you unplug the USB-Cooling LID for 15-20 minutes to rest after 4 days of continuous use in order to extend the product's life expectancy.

Cleaning instructions:

❌ Do not directly clean the exterior of the Voyager with water, as it will damage electronic components.

✅ You can use a damp cloth to gently wipe the stainless steel thermos and the stainless steel LID by hand.

✅ The Biogel-Ice Pack should be cleaned only with a soft cloth.

💨 The top part of the USB-LID can be cleaned only by blowing air into the dissipation holes, while the aluminum tube can only be wiped with a soft cloth.

If there are any oxidation marks on the surface of the USB-Lid's aluminum tube, wipe and clean it with aluminum cleaner. As its material is aluminum with good thermal conductivity, oxidation is a normal phenomenon.

Got Questions About The Voyager? We've Got Answers.

How Long Does The Voyager Portable Fridge Keep Insulin & Medications Cold?

Depends on which cooling mode you're running.

In Biogel passive cooling mode, the Voyager keeps your medications refrigerated (2–8°C) for up to 28–32 hours, and cool below 26°C for up to 46–52 hours, depending on the ambient temperature — more than enough for most Aussie adventures.

In USB electric cooling mode, refrigeration is continuous for as long as power is connected and outside temperatures stay below 35°C. Above 40°C, USB mode keeps medications cool below 26°C but can't quite maintain full fridge temperature.

How Many Insulin Pens Fit In The Voyager Portable Fridge?

The Voyager holds up to 7 standard-format insulin pens available in Australia (Lantus, NovoRapid, Toujeo, Admelog, Novomix, Actrapid, and others) and up to 5 pens of wider formats (Levemir, Tresiba, Basaglar, Humalog, Fiasp, and others).

🔍 Check the full compatibility list on the product image for your specific medication. Can't find your brand? Get in touch with our support team for personalised advice.

Can I Use The Voyager FOr Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, And Other GLP-1 Injections?

Yes. The Voyager is a great mini fridge fort transporting GLP-1 medications.

It holds up to 5 Ozempic or Wegovy pens, up to 5 Saxenda pens, up to 6 Mounjaro KwikPens, and up to 2 Trulicity pens, among many others.

🔍 Not sure about your specific medication or pen format? Get in touch with our support team for personalised advice.

My Medication Is Not On The Compatibility List. Can I Still Use The Voyager?

Very likely, yes! What determines compatibility with our travel coolers is primarily the physical size of your injection device — whether your pen, syringe, or vial fits within the internal chamber, and how many you can carry at once.

🔍 If your medication isn't listed, check the internal dimensions in the product images, or get in touch with our support team — we'll be happy to help you work it out.

How Can I Trust My Medication Is At The Right Temperature?

The Voyager Portable Insulin Fridge comes with a built-in temperature display screen that shows you the internal temperature in real time, so you can check everything's within the safe range without cracking the lid.

It's also got a clever auto shut-off system built in: if the internal temperature drops below 2°C, the fridge switches itself off to stop your medication from freezing, then kicks back in once things warm back up to 8°C. No fiddling required.

Can The Voyager Keep Medications Cold Without Being Plugged In?

Yes and no.

When using the electric USB lid, the Voyager needs to stay connected to an external power source — it doesn't have a built-in battery like the Pioneer PRO.

But when you're off the grid entirely, simply switch to the included Biogel Ice Pack for up to 52 hours of passive cooling — no power point, no worries.

Is The Voyager Portable Insulin Fridge Easy To Carry Around?

Dead easy! The Voyager comes with a strap holder so you can hang it from a bag, a pram, a wheelchair, or carry it hands-free.

It also includes a carrying bag that fits snugly around the fridge for extra protection — great for tossing in a backpack or handbag.

The Mini Fridge's cylindrical shape (8.5 cm diameter) slips comfortably into most bag side pockets or cup holders. Loaded up with medication, it's still light enough for all-day carry — whether you're commuting into the CBD or exploring the great outdoors.

What Power Sources Work With The Voyager's USB Lid?

The Voyager's USB lid uses a USB-C to USB-A cable (included) and works with any standard USB power source — portable power banks, car USB chargers, solar panels, and household USB wall adapters.

That makes it equally practical for road trips up the coast, camping with a solar panel, long-haul flights with a power bank, or plugging in at a hotel or the office.

💡 Heading somewhere remote? The 4AllFamily Pathfinder 20,000 mAh power bank is a purpose-built companion for continuous cooling on the go — no power point needed.

Can I Use The Voyager In My Car Or Powered By A Solar Panel While Off The Grid?

Too right! The Voyager Portable Insulin Fridge works with any USB power source, making it a ripper choice for all kinds of Aussie adventures.

For road trips, just plug it into your car's USB port or a car charger adapter, and it'll keep your medications cold for as long as you're driving.

Heading bush or out to a festival? It works just as well with a portable USB solar panel or a power bank.

💡 And if you lose power entirely, simply switch to the included Biogel Ice Pack for up to 52 hours of passive cooling — no electricity needed.

Can I Use The Voyager To Carry Open, In-Use Insulin Pens Or Vials?

It depends on your specific medication's storage instructions.

The Voyager is engineered to maintain refrigerated temperatures (2–8°C), which may be too cold for some types and brands of insulin or medication that should be kept cool but not returned to the fridge after opening.

💡 For heat protection without full refrigeration, check out the Rambler, the Rambler PRO, or the Chillers instead.

Is The Mini Fridge's Material Safe For Medication Storage?

The Voyager is made from food-grade stainless steel 304 — both the outer thermos body and inner tube. It's non-toxic, corrosion-resistant, and widely used in medical and food-grade applications, making it perfectly safe for direct contact with your medication containers.

The aluminium components of the USB lid offer excellent thermal conductivity for efficient cooling performance.

What Is The Difference Between 4AllFamily's Voyager, Voyager XL, And Voyager Mini?

All three Voyager Mini Fridges for Insulin & Medications share the same dual cooling system — USB electric and Biogel passive mode — but differ in storage capacity and size.

The standard Voyager (8.5 cm diameter, 25 cm tall) holds up to 7 standard insulin pens and suits most travel needs.

The Voyager XL offers a larger internal chamber — ideal if you need to carry more pens, vials, or a mix of injection types.

The Voyager Mini is the compact option, designed for those who only need to carry 1–3 insulin pens and want something smaller and lighter — great for daily commutes or lighter trips.

🔍 Not sure which model best suits your medication and lifestyle? Get in touch with our support team — we're always happy to help you choose!

Is The Voyager Approved For Air Travel? Can I Pack It In My Carry-On?

Absolutely! Like all 4AlLFamily's medical travel coolers, the Voyager is fully approved for airport security — whether you're flying domestically around Australia or heading overseas.

💡 Make sure to carry your medications alongside the mini fridge to show it's being used for medical purposes — keeps security checks quick and stress-free.

What's The Return And Warranty Policy For The Voyager?

Not what you expected? No worries — you've got 30 days from delivery to request a return.
